NO LIFTING HEAVY CYLINDERS

A full SF6 cylinder can weigh up to 250lbs, making it dangerous for operators to put onto a traditional scale.

TURN ON AND GO

Instant bootup and pre-installed settings specifically for SF6 measurement. Plug in the unit and start measuring.

PRECISE MASS MEASUREMENTS

Report true gas usage with a coriolis mass flow meter designed with accuracy of ±0.01 lbs. Meets all EPA & CARB requirements

Customer Testimonials

“The size and number of states we are in makes it very difficult to get everyone on the same page. We have some that still choose to weigh the cylinder when they add gas (Insane). We did a lot of testing of the Sentry with the cylinders on a scale while gassing breakers and the results were very good. Its compact and simple to use, we purchased two units and have them in the field and being used. The techs who have them really like them and we get accurate data on the their work orders. If we had every tech using these the EPA end of the year total of gas added should be really close to what’s reported in all the different  pieces of data required for the EPA reporting.”

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the Sentry and a cylinder scale—which do I need?

The Sentry V2 uses a Coriolis mass flow meter to measure SF6 mass as it flows out of the cylinder during filling, so there's no lifting at all. A cylinder scale weighs the whole cylinder before and after. Choose the Sentry when you want zero cylinder handling and the highest accuracy (±0.01 lbs); choose the scale for a lower-cost option or general inventory weighing.

How accurate is the Sentry V2?

The Sentry measures to ±0.01 lbs using a Coriolis mass flow meter, the same measurement principle used in precision industrial flow applications. This supports true, defensible SF6 gas-usage figures for reporting.

Does the Sentry meet EPA and CARB requirements for SF6 reporting?

Yes. The Sentry V2 complies with EPA and CARB standards and is built to standardize gas reporting across crews—utilities use it to keep field-recorded gas-added totals consistent with year-end EPA reporting.

Do I have to lift heavy cylinders to use it?

No. A full SF6 cylinder can weigh up to 250 lbs, which is unsafe to lift onto a traditional scale. The Sentry connects inline and measures the gas as it's dispensed, eliminating cylinder lifting entirely.

What connections does the Sentry use?

The input connection is CGA 590 (standard SF6 cylinder valve) and the output is DN8 male, or customer-specified if you need a different fitting. It's powered by 5V/2.5A micro USB for easy field charging.

How hard is it to set up in the field?

Minimal. The Sentry boots instantly with pre-installed settings configured specifically for SF6—plug it in inline and start measuring. The compact unit (7.3″ x 7″ x 9″) ships in a hard case and is ready for all-day field use.
